Mark Olver

Mark Olver ( born January 1, 1988 in Burnaby, British Columbia) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is since March 2010, when the Colorado Avalanche of the National Hockey League under contract and in parallel for their farm team, the Lake Erie Monsters in the American Hockey League plays on the position of the center. Career

Career as a junior player

Mark Olver completed two seasons with the Omaha Lancers in the U.S. Junior League United States Hockey League. In his second season with the Lancers of Canadians led the team in goals, assist, and points standings, after which he was named Omaha's Forward of the Year and as Omaha's most valuable player. After graduating from Millard North High School of the players attended Northern Michigan University and played for the team from then Northern Michigan Wildcats in the University and College Sports League Central Collegiate Hockey Association. NHL Entry Draft 2008 Olver was selected in the fifth round at 140th overall position of the Colorado Avalanche. Career as a professional player

On March 30, 2010 Mark Olver signed a two year contract with the Colorado Avalanche. The player is then received six appearances for Colorado's farm team, the Lake Erie Monsters in the American Hockey League, scoring two goals. In the following season, the striker played 18 games for Colorado in the National Hockey League, scoring nine points, but spent most of the season with the Monsters in the AHL. In the season of preparation for the NHL season 2011/12 Mark Olver suffered a head injury, which excluded him from playing for several months. The Center completed in January 2012 for the Lake Erie Monsters its first games of the season. On February 16, he was appointed to the NHL squad the Avalanche, where he could earn a regular place for the rest of the season. This he could not defend in the following season and completed each about half of the games in the AHL and NHL. At the beginning of the season 2013/14 he is again not in the NHL squad.
