Mark Parrish

Mark Parrish ( born February 2, 1977 in Bloomington, Minnesota ) is a retired American professional ice hockey player who during his active career, among other things, for the Florida Panthers, New York Islanders, Los Angeles Kings, Minnesota Wild, Dallas Stars, Tampa Bay Lightning and Buffalo Sabres played in the National Hockey League.

Career

Parrish played during his junior time with Matt Cullen for the University of team of St. Cloud State in the National Collegiate Athletic Association. NHL Entry Draft 1996, he was selected by the Colorado Avalanche in the third round as 79th. Twice he took part in a World Championship with the junior national team of the United States. In 1997 he joined the Western Hockey League with the Seattle Thunderbirds.

For Tom Fitzgerald brought him the Florida Panthers from Colorado. From the 1998/99 season he played mostly at the Panthers and played a few games in the American Hockey League farm team for the Beast of New Haven. The fact that he made it with only 37 points in fifth place in the rookie standings, but also the overall weak year was due. After another year in Florida, he moved to season 2000/ 01, together with Oleg Kvasha to the New York Islanders. In return, Roberto Luongo and Olli Jokinen switched to the Panthers. He developed his performance there and was rewarded for a good season in 2001/ 02 with participating in the NHL All-Star Game. For the third time after 1998 and 2001 he was at the Ice Hockey World Championship for Men 2005 Team of the U.S. national team. Shortly after the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, he moved to the Los Angeles Kings. There he lingered because of his expiring contract only until the end of the season. On 1 June 2006 he signed as a free agent contract with the Minnesota Wild, who has already been paid out in the summer of 2008, after two years, because Parrish had always struggled with injury problems. In November 2008 he was in the Dallas Stars a new employer, where he managed a hat-trick on his debut.

On July 8, 2011 Parrish signed a Zweiwegvertrag for one year at the Ottawa Senators, but was exclusively for their farm team, the Binghamton Senators, are used. In the fall of 2012, he decided to end his playing career.
