Martin López-Zubero

Martín López- Zubero Purcell ( born April 23, 1969 in Jacksonville, Florida ) is a former Spanish swimmer who grew up in the United States.

The swimming was the sport in his family. His brother David and his sister Julie were successful swimmer and started at the Olympic Games. David won a bronze medal at the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow.

During his career, Martín López- Zubero participated in three Olympic Games and won at the Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992 the gold medal in the 200m backstroke. He was also at the 1991 World Championships and 1994 World Champion in 200m backstroke. Also at the European Championships, he was very successful and was able to win five titles.

In 2004, he was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the international swimming sport.
