Martin Müürsepp

Müürsepp Martin ( born September 26, 1974 in Tallinn, Estonian SSR ) is a retired Estonian professional basketball player and current basketball coach. He played two years in the NBA for the Miami Heat and the Dallas Mavericks. With AEK Athens he won the Saporta Cup with UNICS Kazan and the FIBA Europe League.

Career

In his youth Müürsepp first played football before he started with the basketball at the age of nine years. In 1989 he was appointed for the first time in a youth selection of the national basketball team of the Soviet Union and undertakes the following year of BC Kalev. In young age, he was playing in Sweden and Israel, before he returned to Estonia in 1995. There he was obliged by JK Tallinna Kalev.

NBA

In Tallinn to Müürsepp played so much in the spotlight, that he stood for selection in the 1996 NBA Draft. There he was finally drafted at # 25 out of Utah Jazz, the transferred him immediately to the Miami Heat. Between 2001/ 02 and 2005/ 06 season played Martin Müürsepp at various Russian top clubs. With UNICS Kazan he won the 2004 FIBA Europe League, where he was also awarded the MVP of the Final Four. During this time he also played with CSKA Moscow in the ULEB Euro League and also won the Greek Cup.

In 2006 he went back to Estonia, where he ran aground Tartu rock and won the Estonian Championship.
