Matteo Gentili

Matteo Gentili ( born August 21, 1989 in Viareggio ) is an Italian football player. Since the summer of 2013, the defenders at Reggina Calcio is under contract.

Career

Association

Gentili went through the youth division of Atalanta, before he moved into the senior squad of the club in 2008. In the same year he was awarded to the club unterklassigen U.S. Pergocrema. This played 2008/ 09 in the Lega Pro Prima Divisione, the third-highest in Italy. Without the use Gentili returned in the summer of 2009, but was awarded in this League to AS Varese 1910 again right away. With Varese he won second place and thus the relegation to Serie B. By a 0:1 and 2:0 against U.S. Cremonese managed the club to climb. Gentili came into this season regular match practice, but are not root force. 2010/11 he was back in the squad of Atalanta, but where he came to only a league use. In the summer of 2011, the defensive player moved to Spezia Calcio and left his youth club final.

National

Gentili was national player of various youth teams in Italy. With the U19, he managed in 2008 to move into the final of the European Championship. There he was in the starting in the match against Germany. Gentili was an early yellow card and was eventually sent off in the 69th minute with a second yellow card and dismissed. Italy lost the match with 1:3. 2009 was the defender in the squad for the U-20 World Cup in Egypt. Italy reached the quarterfinals, where Gentili was used in all four possible matches. On leaving against Hungary, he was one of four players who were sent from the field.
