Mauricio Aníbal Isla Isla ( born June 12, 1988 in Buin ) is a Chilean football player. Since 2012, the Defensive Specialist is the Italian giants Juventus under contract.

Career
Association
Isla was trained in the youth department of the Chilean club CD Universidad Católica. At that time he was still often used as a striker, but his coach saw in later due to its size rather in the defensive area of a team. 2007 Isla moved on in the adult area. In the summer of 2007, when Isla played at the U -20 World Cup in Canada, he was observed by various European. National
2007 Isla was part of the U -20 Chile to the U-20 South American Championship. Throughout the tournament, the team lost just two of nine games and was so fourth. Isla made this attention through good performance. By the fourth, the team for the U-20 Junior World Cup qualifying in the same year in Canada. Chile penetrated to the semi-finals, but was beaten by eventual champions Argentina. The match for third place was decided then again for themselves. Isla came across the competition in every game and was always used in the initial formation of the Chileans. In September 2007, Marcelo Bielsa Neutrainer appointed him in the squad for the national team for a friendly match against Switzerland. In this game Isla ran on in the starting lineup, thus giving his debut. In the period following the all-rounder was appointed regularly in the squad. After Chile managed to qualify for the World Cup in South Africa, Isla was appointed in May 2010 in their squad.
