Mbenza Bedi

Mbenza Bedi ( born September 11, 1984 in Milange, Zaire ) is a Congolese footballer who currently plays as a striker for Club Africain in Tunisia and the national team of the Congo.

Club career

His professional career began in the Congo at AC Dynamique from Kindu, before he moved to the capital club Bel'Or Kinshasa 2006. In January 2007 Mbenza Bedi signed a contract with the reigning champions TP Mazembe, with which he won in 2007 and again in 2009, the Championship of Lina Foot ( Ligue nationale de football).

With TP Mazembe he also won in 2009 and 2010, the African Champions League. Thus the club qualified for the FIFA Club World Cup. After the preliminary round from 2009 Mbenza Bedi reached with TP Mazembe at the 2010 Club World Cup final after victories over the CF Pachuca and SC Internacional Porto Alegre. Bedi is only the second player after Dwight Yorke, who succeeded at two different Club World Championships, scoring a goal in the history of the Club World Cup. In 2011 he moved to Belgium for RSC Anderlecht, but where he could not prevail over the next two years.

On January 14, 2013 Mbenza Bedi signed a contract with Club Africain. The contract runs out in the season 2015/16, up to that Bedi is expected to play in the capital of Tunisia for the twelve -time champions.

National

2009 Mbenza Bedi was appointed national coach Patrice Neveu for the first time in the national team of the Congo and the team took part in the African Nations Championships. The tournament only players are eligible to play, who still play in the national championships of their home countries. In this Nations Cup 2009 Ivory Coast won the offensive player with the Congolese selection in the final on March 8 against Ghana, while Mbenza Bedi scored the only goal in a 2-0 draw. In qualifying for the African Cup of Nations 2010 in Angola the national team failed in the first round.
