History

Foundation

The band was formed in December of 2006 by Ryan Bentley (rhythm guitar), Tanner Oakes (bass guitar), Jeremy Grisham (drums), Chase Ryan Robbins (vocals) and Kellen McGregor (vocals, piano, guitar ) under the name " O Captain, My Captain! " founded in Dallas, Texas. Back in February of 2007, the name change followed in " Memphis May Fire ", the current name of the band.

The band produced 2007 also their first EP on their own and could thus already achieved local success, prompting Josh grave yard - the founder of the label Trustkill Records - became aware of the group. In September of the same year, the group was finally taken under contract. There still appeared in December 2007, a new edition of the EP, which also bears the name " Memphis May Fire ". Sometime in 2007, bassist Tanner Oakes left the group and was replaced by Austin Radford on bass.

The debut album " Sleepwalking "

The band hoped the scheduled debut album, which should appear later under the name of " Sleepwalking " to be able to bring to the market already in 2008. During the recordings of the album singer Chase Ryan Robbins from the band decided to get out because he became a father and wanted to spend time with his child. Together with Robbins went Radford separate ways with the band after he was in 2007 incorporated as a musician in the group. Radford was replaced by Corey Elder. The replacement for the stepped out Robbins took Memphis May Fire through an open casting in Matty Mullins. At this time the instrumental recordings had been completed.

" Sleepwalking " was finally published on 21 July 2009 on Trustkill Records. The song "Ghost in the Mirror" also appeared in the soundtrack to the horror film Saw VI. An official music video was released on February 2, 2010 on YouTube. From November 27 to December 19, 2009 toured Memphis May Fire with The Word Alive, From First to Last, Alesana, and Asking Alexandria on the " You'd Be Way Cuter in a Coffin Tour" by the United States.

Change to Rise Records: "Between the Lies" and "The Hollow"

After the group Trustkill Records had left and switched to Bullet Tooth Records, the EP "Between the Lies " was released on 2 November 2010 on the new label. On 9 December 2010, the Group announced on her Facebook profile that the song " Action / Adventure" on the video game " Rock Band 3 " be playable. Vocalist Matty Mullins was also a guest vocalist on Kid Liberty's debut album "Fight with Your Fists ." Jeremy Grisham left the band in 2010, was shortly replaced by Eric Molesworth on drums, but which only played for a short period at Memphis May Fire. This was replaced by Jake Garland, who is also actively involved in Broadway.

On 17 January 2011, contracted Memphis May Fire by Rise Records. It was announced that the follow-up album of " Sleepwalking " in the spring to be published. The group flew to Orlando, Florida to record the album in the Chango Studios take. There are also bands like Sleeping with Sirens, Miss May I and Of Machines took already on their albums. On March 3, 2011, a teaser was released on Youtube by it was announced that the new album " The Hollow " is hot and 26 April 2011 to come on the market. Already 3 days before the release, the entire album has been uploaded on the YouTube channel of the label. It debuted at # 130 in the U.S. charts. Between 14 October and 19 November, 2011, the group toured with A Skylit Drive, Sleeping With Sirens, Attila, Serianna and again with Alesana on the "Rock Yourself to Sleep Tour".

Together with The Color Morale and Dream On, Dreamer played Memphis May Fire from 16 September to 7 October 2011, a European tour, which led by Belgium, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, France and Austria. On 7 December 2011 were posted on the official website of the Warped Tour, Memphis May Fire that were booked for the Vans Warped Tour 2012.

Third album: " Challenger "

On February 11, 2012 Kellen McGregor announced that the band will work with producer Cameron Mizell to the third album, which bears the name " Challenger " to produce. The release date was on the 26th May 2012, so while the band is playing on the Warped Tour, set. On April 17, 2012 Ryan Bentley announced his departure from the band. This was replaced by former decoder guitarist Anthony Sepe. Despite the departure of the album was released on the scheduled release date. This album also went into the charts. After this Latin American tour, a European tour was followed by Of Mice & Men, which led by Russia, Italy, Austria, Belarus, Ukraine, Israel and Turkey. Only a few weeks before the group played on the European tour, the band was together with Of Mice & Men and Secrets in the UK.

On February 1, 2013 it was confirmed that Memphis May Fire will play again on the Warped Tour. The group was confirmed together with bands like Sleeping with Sirens and The Wonder Years for the concert tour. In May and June 2013, the group toured together with Betraying the Martyrs and The Parachutes including by Germany. Meanwhile, Memphis May Fire, published a music video for the piece Vices from The Challenger. In November, the group jointly with Issues, Breathe Carolina, and Our Last Night as the opening act for Sleeping with Sirens on the The Feel This tour of the United States tours. After that, the band toured as part of the Warped Tour through Europe. The group was seen in Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria and the United Kingdom. Fourth studio album, " Unconditional "

On August 28, 2013 it was announced through an interview with Hot Topic, that the group will start working on the next album in September. Already at the beginning of the year 2013 started with the recordings of the musicians first demo tracks. The band hopes to release album in 2014 mid-year. On October 7, 2013 it was announced that the work on the album were largely completed and the album might be released in February or March 2014. On December 14, 2013 Matty Mullins announced that the work was completed on the new album. The album was recorded by Kellen McGregor and Cameron Mizell in the Chango Studios. Four days later, the announcement came with The Word Alive, Hands Like Houses to tour A Skylit Drive and Beartooth through the U.S. and Canada. The tour took place in February and March 2014.

On January 26, 2014, the group announced in a studio update that the album Unconditional hot and expected to come on March 25, 2014, to the market. In North America, the album also appeared on March 25, 2014, three days later the release of the album took place at the global level. On April 2, 2014, the music magazine Billboard published the news that the album have nearly sold within the first week of sales 30,000 times and could enter up to fourth place in the U.S. charts. Ultimately Unconditional debuted at fourth place.
