Michael Freytag

Michael Freytag ( born May 4, 1958 in Hamburg ) is a German politician ( CDU) and lawyer. He was from 2004 to 2007 Senator for Urban Development and Environment, 2007 to 2010 Finance Senator of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg from 2007 to 2010 Chairman chairman of the CDU in Hamburg. November 1st, 2010 Chairman of the Board of SCHUFA.

Life and career

After graduation in 1977 at the Wandsbeker Matthias -Claudius -Gymnasium Freytag completed training as a banker and then studied law at the University of Hamburg. 1990 doctorate Freytag on the possibilities and limits of a parliamentary reform for the German Bundestag Dr. jur .. Party

Michael Freytag was a member of the District Assembly Hamburg-Nord since 1982. He was Chairman of the Group since 1986 and since 2000 has been county chairman of the CDU Hamburg -Nord. He was from 2002 to 2007 deputy chairman of the CDU in Hamburg. On 15 September 2007 he was elected with 93.62 % as the successor of Dirk Fischer as state chairman of the CDU Hamburg and confirmed again in June 2008 with 72.95 %. On 1 March 2010, he announced his immediate resignation from the post.

Member of Parliament

Freytag belonged from 1982 to 1991, the District Assembly of the district Hamburg-Nord and was here from 1986 to 1991 Chairman of the CDU.

From 1991 to 2010 Freytag was a member of the Hamburg Parliament, where he was from 2001 to 2004 the CDU parliamentary group. His mandate rested since his appointment as Senator. With the resignation as finance minister on 17 March 2010, he was also on his mandate in the citizenry.

Public offices
