Michael Joseph Curley

Michael Joseph Curley ( born October 12, 1879 in Athlone, Ireland; † May 16, 1947 ) was Archbishop of Baltimore.

Life

Michael Joseph Curley received on 19 March 1904, the sacrament of Holy Orders.

On April 3, 1914, Pope Pius X appointed as Bishop of Saint Augustine. The Bishop of Savannah, Benjamin Joseph Keiley, donated to him on June 30th of the same year, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were the Bishop of Wheeling, Patrick James Donahue, and the Auxiliary Bishop of Baltimore, Owen Patrick Bernard Corrigan.

On August 10, 1921 Pope Benedict XV appointed him. Archbishop of Baltimore. The inauguration took place on November 30th of the same year. From December 12, 1924 to July 1, 1925 Michael Joseph Curley was also Apostolic Administrator of Raleigh.
