Microhouse

Micro House is a variant of the minimal house and thus the house music belong.

Term

The term Micro House was founded in 2001 by Philip Sherbourne in his The Wire article " The Rules of Reduction " was coined ( July issue, nr. 209). He refers to a variety of primarily German Minimal House, Chicago House which reduces to the triple essence of rhythm, soul and silence, as Sherbourne writes. On sound surfaces is largely unnecessary. Various rhythmic elements such as kick drum and hi -hat are often replaced by ultra- short samples, samples, beyond the boundary of the re- knowable. They come not only from the disk and CD archives of the DJs, but also from malfunction of the equipment ( such as scratching glitches, noise, clicks, distortion, etc.). Come vocals before, these are consequently reduced to minimal statements or even sentence fragments. All samples are used rhythmically, so only just a skeleton is left of the house music. It is the analogy: Soul is related to late James Brown as House to Micro House.

The most important role models come from the minimal house environment. They are: Plastikman / Richie Hawtin, Mike Inks Studio 1 - and M: i :5- Releases.
