Miesterhorst is a town and a district of the Hanseatic City Guard Insert in the Altmark Salzwedel in Saxony- Anhalt.
Geography
Miesterhorst is close to the lowland area Drömling. At the town adjoining Miesterhorst ( zip code 39649 ) belongs to the district Taterberg ( 39646 ).
History
Miesterhorst probably originated as a colony of Mieste and was built on one of the nests in Drömling. 1725, the church was built in the center of the village. The post office was founded in 1928, which housed the municipal offices to incorporation. The daycare center was expanded in 1993.
On 1 January 2011 the then independent municipality and the district Taterberg as well as the living quarters station Miesterhorst, Birkhorst colony and colony Miesterhorst was incorporated together with 17 other municipalities in the Hanseatic city Gardelegen. The municipality had prior to the incorporation 695 inhabitants ( 31 December 2009) and an area of 22.64 km ², of which, the proportion of forest area 3.14 km ².
