Miguel Ángel González Suárez

Miguel Ángel González Suárez ( born December 24, 1947 in Ourense), commonly known as Miguel Ángel is a former Spanish football goalkeeper.

Career

Miguel Ángel began his athletic career as a handball goalkeeper in his hometown at Cardenal Cisneros, before it was not until 18 years eventually moved to the small football division side AD Couto. His good performances earned him a short time the most important club in the city, CD Ourense. In the summer of 1967, after only one year in football, he already committed Real Madrid, but lent him for the time being from the second division CD Castellón. From the summer of 1968, he finally was part of the squad of Real Madrid, but under coach Miguel Muñoz he could never secure a regular place to number one were the first Kanare Antonio Betancort and Andres Junquera and later Borja García Alarcón and Mariano Remon.
