Mike Leon Grosch

Mike Leon Grosch ( born November 2, 1976 in Wuppertal ) is a German singer in the German pop music and radio presenter. He's Korean and German ancestors.

Penny is best known as a finalist of the third season of the talent show Germany sucht den Superstar (DSDS ). This talent show beamed the television station RTL from November 2005 to March 2006. He finished second in the competition in second place and was subject to its competitor Tobias Regner in the final with 45.4 to 54.6 percent of the votes over a telephone hotline audience votes.

Life and career

Penny grew up in Wuppertal- Elberfeld up with his mother Sung- Yoon ( 성윤 ) Grosch, a nurse from Korea. In 1997 he opened at the high school Bayreuther Straße High School. Since the age of 19 Penny lives in Cologne. Before participating in American Idol, he worked as a sales representative at E -Plus. He also stood by the mobile provider base as testimonial under contract and made for this company advertising. During the competition to American Idol Grosch caused a stir by his love for his rival Vanessa Jean Dedmon, who was eliminated in the semifinals. The couple separated three months after the final broadcast of Germany sucht den Superstar. He then released two singles and an album. In November 2006, Sony BMG announced his recording contract. To date, Grosch is musically active and completed live performances. Shot in 2006, was the scene of the crime in January 2007: smoldering aired in which Mike Leon Grosch next to Jeanette Biedermann plays a minor role.

Musical experience gained Grosch for small gigs with a hobby band from Ratingen, just in a couple of karaoke performances and as a vocal accompaniment to weddings.

Grosch participated in the third season of success casting show Germany seeks the superstar and part was with his soulful voice as the favorite to win. But in the end, he was number two behind the winner Tobias Regner.
