Mineiros

Mineiros is a Brazilian municipality and city in the state of Goiás in the mesoregion southern Goiás and in the micro-region of Southwest de Goiás. It is located southwest of the Brazilian capital Brasília and Goiânia capital on the border of Goiás / Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul.

Geographical location

Mineiros borders the following municipalities:

In the north to Ponta Branca (MT )
On the northeast by Doverlândia
To the east by Caiapônia, Perolândia and Jataí, as well as the community Portelândia as an enclave
On the southeast by Serranópolis
In the south Chapadão do Céu, Costa Rica ( MS)
On the west by Alto Taquari (MT ), Alto Araguaia (MT) and Santa Rita do Araguaia

The center of the Gemeindegegbiet from SW to NE running Serra do Caiapó divides the municipality in two hydrological basins on:

To the north, the Rio Araguaia / Tocantins basin
To the south the Paraná Basin with major tributaries Rio Verde
