Mishima (Shizuoka)

Mishima (Japanese三岛 市, -shi) is a city on the Izu Peninsula in Shizuoka Prefecture in Japan.

The Japanese narrator Hiraoka Kimitake named after this city Mishima Yukio.

Geography

Their population is growing steadily since the Shinkansen allowed to commute in about an hour to around 100 km from Tokyo.

History

Mishima was a post station (宿 场 町Shukuba -machi ) of the Tōkaidō during the Edo period.

The city was founded on April 29, 1941.
