Geography
The community is located about 5 km northeast of the city chub and 20 km west of Meissen in the highest part of the Lommatzscher Care (300 m above sea level). The municipality is the watershed between the river and the Jahna Ketzerbach.

Neighboring communities
History
Mochau is first mentioned in a deed of Margrave Henry I of haste castle in 1090.
Mochau 1667 was affected by witch hunts. Judge George Hansel got into a witch trial.
On 1 January 1996, the merger was completed with the former municipalities Beicha, choirs, Lüttewitz and Mochau to present greater community Mochau.

Economy and infrastructure
Highest priority is given to the new industrial park "Am fox hole". On June 15, 2007 was here the first sod for the European development center "Signet Solar," the approximately 130 employees employed from mid-2008. On 4 June 2010 presented Signet Solar files for bankruptcy, currently the business is set.
