Mogamed Ibragimov

Magomed Ibragimov Ibragimchalilowitsch (Russian Магомед Ибрагимхалилович Ибрагимов, Azerbaijani Məhəmməd İbrahimov, macedonian Могамед Ибрагимов / Mogamed Ibragimov, born 22 July 1974 in Urada, Dagestan ASSR, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union ) is a former Azerbaijani wrestler of Russian origin, for 1997-2004 Macedonia started.

Career

Magomed Ibragimov grew up in the Soviet Caucasus republic of Dagestan and visited in the capital Makhachkala school. As a teenager, he began in 1985 in Azerbaijan with the rings. His coach Schewalje Nussujew formed him until 1994 at an outstanding freestyle wrestler, who started at middleweight with a size of 1.80 m. His first international competition contested Magomed 1994. Until 1996, he competed for Azerbaijan, but switched in 1997 for economic reasons to Macedonia and launched for a wrestler club in Skopje.

In his first start in an international championship at the World Championships in Istanbul, he was only twenty years old and had to have a lack of experience with the 11th place finish. But a year later, he demonstrated at the European Championships in Fribourg / Switzerland his great skill, for he was with five wins European Champion. At the World Championships the same year in Atlanta, he could appreciate, though he finished only 5th place after losing in the quarterfinals to eventual champion Kevin Jackson from the USA. In the struggle for this place, he defeated the world-class wrestler Sebahattin Öztürk from Turkey.

In the Olympic year 1996 Magomed reached the same results as in 1995. In April this year he was in Budapest with wins over Nicolae Ghiţă from Romania, Chadschimurad Magomedov of Russia, Lukman Dzhabrailov from Moldova and Laszlo Dvorak from Hungary, all world-class wrestler and even multiple medal winner, for the second time European champions. When he reached only the fifth place at the Olympic Games the same year in Atlanta but again, as with the World Cup last year, but his disappointment was great. Failed this time he was on Amir Reza Khadem from Iran, who defeated him on points.

Starting for Macedonia, he reached at the World Championships in Krasnoyarsk in 1997 and won 6th place at the 1998 World Cup in Tehran the silver medal in the middleweight division after a 4-0 final defeat against another Iranian Alireza Heidari.

The third European title won Magomed 1999 in Minsk. In the final battle he defeated newcomer Igor Samusonoks from Latvia sure on points. Then Magomed won the bronze medal in the middleweight division at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney. In the semifinals he was beaten by the outstanding Adam Saitijew from Russia 3-0 on points, but won the fight for the bronze medal Amir Reza Khadem tions and thus took revenge for their defeat at the Olympic Games in 1996.

In the coming years, Magomed Ibragimov until 2004 was active, he won no medals at international championships. The Olympic wrestlers tournament in Athens in 2004 was the last tournament he played. Unfortunately, he lost it in the first two rounds against Moon Eui- jae of South Korea with 0:4 points and against Miroslaw Gotschew from Bulgaria with 2:4 points and finished only 19th place.
