Mohamadou "Mo" Idrissou, also Mahammadou Idrissou, ( born March 8, 1980 in Yaoundé ) is a Cameroonian football player who is under contract with 1.FC Kaiserslautern since 2012.
Career
In the club
The first stations in Idrissous career were Racing Bafoussam and Garoua Coton Sport of Cameroon.
During the winter break of the season 2000/ 01 he was taken from the Hessen Oberliga side FSV Frankfurt in Germany. When FSV he could prevail on first attempt and scored 15 goals in 18 games. After the FSV was not risen at the end of the season in the regional league, Idrissou moved to 2001/ 02 to the third division Wehen. There he formed together with Saber Ben Neticha the most prolific strike partnership of the Regionalliga Süd.
For a fee of 300,000 euros Idrissou moved to this season for the Bundesliga promoted Hannover 96 and played there immediately into the starting eleven. During the winter break of the season 2004/ 05 Idrissou was loaned to French club SM Caen.
In January 2006, he had already signed a contract with MSV Duisburg, but fell after the medical examination, so that the MSV refrained from an obligation. Because he had 96 already signed a contract with Hannover resolution of his advisers, and 96 was not ready to take him back under contract, he was without a club. According to a new physical examination at MSV Duisburg he signed in June 2006, finally signed a contract until 30 June 2008.
Shortly before the end of the transfer window, he moved in January 2008 to the second division side SC Freiburg, which he ascended in the 2008 /09 season in the Bundesliga.
For the 2010/11 season, the Cameroonian joined free transfer to the Lower Rhine to Borussia Mönchengladbach, where he received a two-year contract. He came in the course of the round on 33 missions and scored five goals. As coach Lucien Favre no longer planned for 2011/ 12 Idrissou, he was released for a change. On 31 August 2011, he moved finally to the then second division side Eintracht Frankfurt. In his first race for the concord on 7 Round in the away match against FC Energie Cottbus he scored the 3-3 equalizer in the 89th minute.
During the summer break in 2012 Idrissou transferred to 1 FC Kaiserslautern. He signed a two-year contract. In his first game for FCK, he scored in the 3-3 draw against Union Berlin two goals. In the 2013/14 season he scored in the first four games, four goals and prepared one before.
National
As a Bundesliga player Idrissou was 2003 National Player of Cameroon. Height of his national team career was the second place in the Confederations Cup 2003. Idrissou came in all five games for Cameroon to use, but remained without a goal. Even in the semi-final match against Colombia when his teammates Marc -Vivien Foe collapsed on the pitch and later died in hospital, Idrissou was erected.
Controversies
Idrissou regarded as temperamental, sometimes difficult players. During his engagement at SC Freiburg in February 2010, he made so in a period of unsatisfactory team performance in addition to restlessness, as he gives his comrades derogatory ("I have always tired to play with you losers. I play next year in the Champions League. " ) expressed. Even during his subsequent time at Borussia Mönchengladbach he fell through public club criticism to negative. The end of April, 2013, after an away defeat at Kaiserslautern Energie Cottbus to Idrissou complained about the referee of the match, Wolfgang Stark, the body language did not like it, with the words: "I'm not gay. I have a men's body language and will not be a fagot. That's his problem. " Idrissou was convicted a week later by a sports court to a fine of 3000 euros. In a statement to Idrissou apologized for his statements and emphasized " being gay " to have not meant to be derogatory.
