Mônica Rodrigues

Mônica Rodrigues ( born September 20, 1967 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a former Brazilian beach volleyball player.

Career

Rodrigues played their first international tournament in 1993 with Adriana Samuel Ramos. At the Open tournament in Rio de Janeiro, the duo reached the finals as well as at the 1994 Goodwill Games in St. Petersburg. After numerous other top - ten finishes, the Brazilians took part in 1996 in Atlanta at the first Olympic tournament and documents until the endgame their compatriots Sandra Pires and Jackie Silva. A year later, they lost the quarter-finals of the World Championship in Los Angeles against the U.S. Americans Kirby / Reno.

Then Rodrigues played four tournaments with Jackie Silva and at other tournaments with various other partners, before 2000, a new duo with Ana Paula Connelly formed, which won, among others, the Open tournament in Cagliari. In 2002 and 2003 she was active with Alexandra and Leila Barros. At the World Championships in Rio de Janeiro, she stood in front of their home crowd, however, with Angela Vieira. The duo was eliminated in the first round and was ranked 33 in the following year, Rodrigues played again with Alexandra.
