Leila Barros ( born September 30, 1971 in Brasilia, DF ) is a former Brazilian volleyball and beach volleyball player.

Sporting career Hall

Leila Barros began as a fifteen- year-old with the indoor volleyball. In 1994 she was with the Brazilian national vice world champion. Second place went to the Brazilian also with her team at the World Grand Prix 1995. Between 1996 and 1998 she was at this event, even the gold medal and was named Most Valuable Player. In 1999 it reached again the silver medal and 2000 was Leila Barros after winning the bronze medal for the fifth time at a Grand Prix on the podium. The same color also had the medals at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta and 2000 in Sydney.

Sporting career Beach

Your beach volleyball career started Leila 2001. 2002 she played with Sandra Pires several tournaments of the FIVB World Tour. 2003 was the partner Mônica Rodrigues from 2004 until 2007 was that Ana Paula Connelly and Leila Barros a team. The two won the ninth place finish at the 2005 World Championships in Berlin. The two arrived at the last tournament of the year in their home country with the 17th rank again a main field placement.

Private

When her mother and her father Francisco Alves de Barros Leila grew up with her brother Marcelo. They first played handball at school before she switched to volleyball. Leila is married to the Brazilian Olympic champion and world champion Emanuel Rego.
