Monte Barrett
Monte Barrett ( born May 26, 1971 in Greenville ( North Carolina)) is an American boxer in the heavyweight division.

His record was 37-3 as an amateur.
Professional career
Barrett began his career as a professional boxer in 1996 at the age of 25 years. In his 22nd pro fight he met on August 28, 1999 Lance Whitaker and lost for the first time by a point defeat. On 15 June 2000 Barrett joined a title defense of the heavyweight world champion Lennox Lewis in a preliminary round against Wladimir Klitschko and suffered the first knockout loss of his career. He was here five times beaten to the ground before the fight was finally stopped by the referee in the seventh round.
