Monte Barrett

Monte Barrett ( born May 26, 1971 in Greenville ( North Carolina)) is an American boxer in the heavyweight division.

His record was 37-3 as an amateur.

Professional career

Barrett began his career as a professional boxer in 1996 at the age of 25 years. In his 22nd pro fight he met on August 28, 1999 Lance Whitaker and lost for the first time by a point defeat. On 15 June 2000 Barrett joined a title defense of the heavyweight world champion Lennox Lewis in a preliminary round against Wladimir Klitschko and suffered the first knockout loss of his career.
