However, then go to the doors behind Bean, so his bags go on without him. After a while Stepan apologized to Bean and gives him back the video camera. The train with Stepan's father drives at the station along without stopping, but this keeps the phone out the window, whose last two digits are obscured by the father's fingers. During the film Stepan and Bean call again and again at the mere man on the uncovered numbers are true ( eg a skull, the head waiter at Le Train Bleu, in Stepan's father, however, where there is a misunderstanding ). Finally, Bean and Stepan get on the next train, but he forgets to stop the pass and tickets.

Because these are lacking, both will soon be thrown at the Gare d' Avignon TGV from the train, however, Bean earned the money for further travel by bus as a street musician ( by a very own interpretation of Giacomo Puccini's O mio babbino caro ). Just before he goes into the bus, however, he loses his card that sticks under the foot of a chicken, which is now loaded even in a car with other hens. With an old bike Bean chases the car. When he arrives at the chicken coop, the chickens have already been released in a huge barn. Bean has no chance to retrieve the ticket. To make matters worse, he has lost Stepan, who together wanted to drive the bus with him, but now continue with a band.

Bean is now somewhere in the province and want to travel by hitchhiking on what proves to be difficult because hardly passes by a car. After he tried to steal a moped and was almost hit by a truck, he gives up and moves on foot. In a small village, he goes to sleep, however, turns out to be a film set in the morning. The egocentric director Clarson Clay wants to shoot with the young actress Sabine a yogurt commercial here. Bean is promptly dressed as a German soldier, but he makes the entire film set for chaos, culminating in the fact that he slightly injured Clay by an explosion. Meanwhile, Stepan's father named Emil, how triggered it turns a jury member at the film festival in Cannes, a police search of his son. Bean is searched for as Stepan's kidnapper police.

Bean is now trying again to hitchhike to reach its destination Cannes, after all, he is taken away by Sabine, the actress from the yogurt commercial that happens to have a car that looks like Beans Mini Cooper. Sabine also wants to Cannes, but at the film festival, where Clarson Clay's new film in which she lands a role Premiere. Sabine believes that Mr. Bean is Russian and Stepan that abuts a highway rest stop to them, his son is. After Sabine evening is asleep at the wheel and so has almost caused an accident, Bean takes over this from her and runs through the night (with the help of matches, forcing his eyes to stay open).

On the morning she finds at a petrol station in front of Cannes from a news broadcast that Bean is wanted by the police, they will be there, " his accomplice " dubbed. She confronts Bean with it, but he finally believes that he is not a kidnapper. Using Sabine want to find whose father Mr. Bean and Stepan, Bean finally disguises himself as an old lady and Stepan as a little girl. Meanwhile Clarson Clay's film runs ( in which he is a producer, screenwriter, director and star in one person at a time) in the movie hall, but only with limited success, as all spectators other than himself are bored.

In the movie hall, in which Stepan's father Emil is staying, but can go in only Sabine, so Mr. Bean and Stepan enter the building through the back door and have to overcome a security guard. Stepan is to wait in a room behind the screen, while Bean Sabine goes into the film room. The but is shocked because Clay has reduced the single scene with her in the film to a minimum so that it does not say a single sentence more. In Bean is so upset that he unceremoniously pulls out his video camera with which he has recorded all of his travel, and goes into the screening room. He installed the video camera on the demo, so this will project the recorded videos from the trip on the canvas and not Clays film. The audience begin to care again for the film, but Clay is furious. With a few security men trying to break into the room, the door has bean but cluttered. However, there is a second door, entering through the clay into the room; Bean can just flee yet. He flees across the heads of the film audience in the movie theater across the security men up to the stage. Clay, meanwhile, tries to show his film again, but this fails, he hits hard on the demo, so that it stops at a picture of Stepan.

Emil now accused Bean, he was the kidnapper of his son. But Sabine and Stepan finally clarify the situation for Mr. Bean, so that Emil is fully satisfied. Clay is now on stage who wants Bean also blame than he, however, the enthusiastic audience sees he can depend on. At a press conference later, he does so as if the finale was planned with the recordings of the video camera already so.

Bean, however, wants only to the sea. In the end it is there on the beach to a big musical scene with all stakeholders under Charles Trenet's La Mer

Reviews

" The stunningly witty, charming finale makes up for some lengths of road movies - Beans strength lies precisely but in a short skit that had made him since 1990 on the cult TV figure. Throughout beautiful are the images of suffering and yet sunny French countryside. Conclusion: A Brit on the trail of Jacques Tati ".

"Rather a series of misadventures as a dramatist thoughtful movie, the second movie appearance of the restricted British has to offer minimal maintenance end and is more likely to be interpreted as a farewell to a former television cult. "
