Mill race is a municipality in the district Jenner village in Burgenland in Austria. The Hungarian name of the village is Malomgödör.

Geography

The municipality is located in southern Burgenland at the border triangle between Austria, Hungary and Slovenia. The village has an area of ​​555 ha and is located approximately 300-392 m above sea level. Mill race is the only place in the community.

History

Mill-race, called before 1921 " Malomgódór " until 1970 was an independent municipality. From 1971 to 1992, the church became a district of Neuhaus am Klausbach. From a settlement 's book shows that, which was called the place the first time in 1387 with the name " Mechnuk ". The place name probably owes its origin to a trickle on which stood a mill. More names are to be found in place names book: 1555 " Milihgrom " 1660 " Melgrob " 1698 " Milgrom " and since 1751 " mill race " (Land of Neuhaus am Klaus Bach).

In 1958 started the construction of a mill race in elementary school that had already completed a year later. It was not until that moment began the social convergence within the community; earlier local children had been taught in the schools of the surrounding communities. 1973 started in a mill race with the construction of a sports field. In 1985, the kindergarten class mill race was created as part of the kindergarten Neuhaus / Klb. In 1991, the nursery was closed down again. This measure was probably ultimately the occasion for a renewed separation from the greater community Neuhaus. On the initiative of the parents association of the nursery school was rebuilt and still opened as a private kindergarten in the autumn of the same year. After the separation, the church congregation again took over the operation. Since January 2003, the municipality has by vormaliger Management Community with Neuhaus am Klausbach again held their own municipality (including registry office).
