Mundia Sikatana

Mundia Sikatana ( born March 6, 1938June 14, 2012 in Lusaka, Zambia) was a politician in Zambia.

Mundia Sikatana was a lawyer. He was a founding member of the Movement for Multiparty Democracy and an adviser to President Frederick Chiluba. Sikatana was since 2001 a member of the National Assembly of Zambia and was Minister of Agriculture in Zambia during the first presidency of Levy Mwanawasa. He had rejected for the Government of Zambia, 2002, the food aid from the World Food Programme, as it contained genetically modified corn, which had been used in the country as seed. With this theme, he found a worldwide audience. In October 2006 he took over the foreign ministry in Zambia.

Sikatana died on 14 June 2012 at the University Hospital of Lusaka.
