Mürzhofen until the end of 2014 a municipality with 936 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the Austrian state of Styria ( Judicial District Miirzzuschlag and in the political district of Bruck- Miirzzuschlag ). As part of the municipality of structural reform in Styria it is merged in 2015 with the church of All Saints in Muerztal and the municipality Kindberg, the new community will continue to bear the name of township Kindberg. This is based on the Styrian community structure reform law - StGsrG.

Geography

Mürzhofen is located in the district of Bruck- Miirzzuschlag in the north- east of Styria and is also referred to as the center of Styria. The neighboring municipalities are Mürzhofens Saints in Muerztal, St. Marein in Muerztal and Sankt Lorenzen im Muerztal.

There are no other cadastral except Mürzhofen.

History

The first documented mention was made although only by about 1140 as Muerzehoven, but already the Carolingian and Ottonian existed a royal farmyard. Landlords were for centuries the Stubenberger. The emancipation of the serfs took place after the revolutionary turmoil in 1848., The local church as an autonomous body was established in 1850. After the annexation of Austria in 1938, the community came to Reichsgau Styria, 1945-1955, she was part of the British zone of occupation in Austria.

Policy

Mayor since 4 December 2006, Franz Harrer ( SPÖ). He succeeds Charles Pepper, who had held the post since 1985. Current Vice Mayor Franz Seitinger.

Coat of arms

The award of the municipality coat of arms came into effect on 1 October 2005. Coat Description: From red to black, divided by a silver five-pointed leaf clover crown, their first and fifth wave will be halved from the plate edge and the frost is formed below wavy.

Sports

The football club has four Mürzhofen combat teams, one U15 ( gaming community with punching ), a U13, a U11, U9 and U8 one. The ortsansäßige tennis club "TC Mürzhofen " is currently one men's team, a women's team and a U13 youth team.
