Nashik (Division)

Nashik ( Marathi: जळगाव विभाग ) is a division in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It lies partly in the region Khandesh in the valley of the Tapti.

History

The northern part of the district of Khandesh formed until 1906, which was then divided into East and West. On 21 October 1960, the district was renamed East Khandesh district Jalgeon; District of West Kandash was renamed in Dhule district. The district Nandurbar was formed on 1 July 1998 from the district of Dhule.
