Amravati (Division)

Amravati is a division in the Indian state of Maharashtra.

History

The division coincides approximately with the former province of Berar, who came to the State of Hyderabad 1803. Since 1853, the area was administered by the British, which in 1903 the Central Provinces annexing. After India's independence, the area was initially allocated to Madhya Pradesh; In 1956 a new border along linguistic point of view.
