Neapolis (Greek Νεάπολη, Katharevousa Neapolis ( f sg ) ) is a district of Thessaloniki, belongs however to the politically independent community Neapolis - Sykies in the region of Central Macedonia.

Neapolis was established as an independent country community ( kinotita ) in 1934 and 1946 for the township ( dimos ) levied. 2010, this municipality was merged with Sykies, Agios Pavlos and Pefka to Neapolis - Sykies. The four former municipalities form the municipal districts of the new community.

The borough recorded in the years 1981 to 2001 in contrast to many other towns and villages in the metropolitan area of Thessaloniki no significant increase in population. 1981 lived in Neapolis 31 464 people in 1991 and 2001 30 568 31 830 ( details in each case determined by censuses ). Despite the relatively constant population development Neapolis belongs to the municipalities and cities in Greece the most densely populated. The city is accordingly characterized by dense development. Notable green spaces do not exist in Neapolis.

To the west of Neapolis is the Thessaloniki Railway Station, south of the harbor.
