Nebojša Novaković

Nebojsa Novakovic ( born October 29, 1964 in Sarajevo, Yugoslavia ) is a former Bosnian football player. Currently, the former striker who won several national titles with the Swedish club AIK as a player works as assistant coach in Northern Europe.

Career

Novakovic began playing football at Bratstvo Vojkovići. From 1984 he played for Dinamo Vojkovići Famos Sarajevo in the Yugoslav professional football. To escape the emerging Yugoslav wars, he took in 1991 at an offer from the Swedish club IF Vasalunds to play in the second Swedish league.

In 1993, Novakovic to Djurgårdens IF ( DIF) in the Allsvenskan. After some initial difficulties, the striker was able to establish the first division. After three years at the club he joined in early 1997 for local rivals AIK.

In his new employer Novakovic had its most successful period. After initial hostility from the AIK supporters, since he had come from DIF, he made in his first competitive match for the club from Solna for attention. On 6 March 1997, the club entered as the reigning Cup winner in the European Cup of Cup Winners' Cup against FC Barcelona at Camp Nou and Novakovic were in the first minute the groundwork for 1-0 hits by Pascal Simpson.
