Nenndorf

Nominal village is a municipality in East Frisia in the integrated municipality in the district of Holtriem Witt mouth in Lower Saxony. 2004 the community had about 650 inhabitants and covers an area of 6.86 square kilometers. The municipality is among the areas and population smallest municipalities in Lower Saxony.

Early settlement of the township has been demonstrated for the Bronze Age. Today's settlement is likely to have had its origins in the Middle Ages. Since 1972, the municipality of the velvet municipality Holtriem belongs to.

At national importance found in the existing nominal village since 1896 Torfbrandziegelei be fired at the clinker bricks on the basis of a Torfbefeuerung. Since 1849 is found in nominal village also has a Dutch mill. This windmill bears the arms of the velvet municipality.

The municipal area is since 1998 a wind farm with 35 turbines and a capacity of 52.5 megawatts.

The Council of the Municipality Council nominal village consists of 9 women and councilors. This is the set number for the member community of integrated municipality with a population of 501-1000 people. The 9 Women Council and councilors are elected by a municipal election for five years. The current term of office began on 1 November 2011.

The council chose the Councilwoman Maria Schuster ( FWG ) for honorary mayor for the current parliamentary term.

The last local elections took place on September 11, 2011. All elected Council members include the voter community at FWG.

The turnout in the local elections of 2011 was 52.02 %, just below the Lower Saxony average of 52.5 %. For comparison - in the previous local elections on 10 September 2006, the turnout was 64.92 %.
