Nikki Washington

Madeline Nicole Washington, named Nikki, ( born August 1, 1988 in Mesquite, Texas) is an American football player who has stood the 2014 season with the Houston Dash under contract.

Career

Association

Washington began her professional career in 2009 with the Pali Blues. In early 2010, she was drafted by the WPS franchise in the Los Angeles Sol, this but dissolved shortly thereafter and Washington came instead under the league rivals Sky Blue FC. In May 2010, she joined the Saint Louis Athletica, a few weeks later on to the Chicago Red Stars. The 2011 season began with the Boston Breakers Washington, but moved in the same year for the franchise magicJack. She had been this way in only two calendar years for a total of six different WPS franchises under contract.

After the dissolution of the WPS, she joined for a short time again the Pali Blues and played in the sequence for the Australian first division club Canberra United. Beginning of 2013, Washington joined the NWSL franchise in the Portland Thorns. Your league debut there on April 13, 2013 against FC Kansas City, on May 4, they scored their first hit against Washington Spirit in the NWSL. In January 2014 Washington moved to league rivals Houston Dash.

National

Washington played from 2007 to 2008 for the U.S. U-20 national team, with whom she participated in the 2008 World Championship and there could win the title. In 2009, she was first appointed to the squad of the U.S. U-23 selection.
