Nové Sedlo (Louny District)

Nové Saddleback ( German Neusattel b. Saaz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located six kilometers north-west of Žatec between the rivers Eger and Liboc. The municipality belongs to the micro-region Žatecko in Okres Louny.

Geography

The village lies in the Saaz pan on a saddle above the Brezansky Potok, a cast-off old arm of the Eger. To the north the land slopes gently into the wide bed of the river Eger and to the south lies the Liboctal. Between Nové Saddleback and the Liboc State Road 225 Žatec by Kadan and the railway from Žatec towards Podbořany leads to the Railway Stop Žabokliky through.

Neighboring towns are Přívlaky in the north, Stroupeč in the northeast, and zahori Libočany in the east, Čeradice in the south, Žabokliky the southwest, Chbany, Chudeřín and Roztyly in the west and Břežany in the northwest.

History

The first mention of Nové Saddleback took place in 1249, when Wenceslas I. the place and the festivities left the monastery forest Assen. In the 15th century the place was back in worldly possessions and in 1444 sold it to John of Měrunice Heinrich von Schönhof. Later acquired Bohuslav Felix von Lobkowitz and Hassenstein the place. During the reign of Jindřich Strojetický ze Strojetic the festivals was renewed.

In the 18th century belonged to the Nové Saddleback Kulhanek family from Saaz. After the death of their children, the Marie Clare Kulhanek widow donated in 1734 the rectory and left in the years 1735 to 1737 to build the Church of the Holy Trinity and St Wenceslas, which became the place of the grave Kulhanek family. After the replacement of patrimonial Neusattel in 1850 for the independent community, which included the village of Kutter shin. Politically, the place to Saaz district was assigned in Saaz was also the seat of the court. The Good Neusattel with cutter Schin bought 1896 Dr. Hans Damm, leaving 1898-1901 had a palace built.

Another castle was in Cinov. The building dates from the early 19th century on the site of an ancient festivals and was canceled in the 1960s.
