Olešná (Písek District)

Olešná ( German Woleschna ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located 13 kilometers north-west of Bechyně in South Bohemia and belongs to Okres Pisek.

Geography

Olešná is located south of belonging to the Central Bohemian hills Milevská pahorkatina in the valley of the brook Velky creek. The village is located on the right side above the flooded through the Orlik dam Vltava. To the north- west is the bridge Podolský most. To the northeast, the Velké Mokri rises (519 m) ​​, in the south of Dubový vrch (524 m).

Neighboring towns are Podolí I in the north, Dolni Rastory, Ovčín, Kozi Hora, Bojenice and Bílinka in the northeast, Levec, Svatkovice and Rakov in the east, Široká, Nemějice and Slabčice the southeast, Písecká Smoleč, Jehnědno, Kozin and Chřešťovice in the south, Hájovna, Strouhy and Dobešice the southwest, Horni Záhoří and Jamny in the west and Temešvár and Podolsko in the northwest.

History

Archaeological remains of Celtic objects from the Bronze Age occupy a prehistoric settlement in the area.

The first written mention of the village was carried out in 1379 in a given by Archbishop Johann Očko of Wlašim in order list of all archbishop's dominions. The archbishop's notary by Jindřich Hezlín Humpolec purpose of a special tax for the support of King Wenceslas IV compiled directory has Olešná out as one of 33 villages of the rule Thein. On August 20, 1415 Archbishop Konrad von Vechta had to pledge the rule as a result of mismanagement to Jan of Sobětice. 1416 was the pledge entirely over to them. After the Battle of White Mountain, the rule was confiscated and handed back by King Ferdinand II as a whole the Archdiocese of Prague.

In 1840 Woleschna / Wolessna consisted of 52 houses with 412 inhabitants. The village belonged, abstruse located, a mill, a half farmer and six Dominikalhäusler. Vicarage was Křesstiowitz ( Chřešťovice ). 1848 457 people lived in the place. The inhabitants lived from agriculture and the crafts. Until the mid- 19th century, the village always the archbishop's estate Vltava Thein remained submissive.

After the abolition of patrimonial Volešná / Woleschna formed in 1850 a part of the community Podolí in the district administration and the judicial district of the Pisek. 1870 Volešná became independent, in 1887 the Vice My Dung of Rastory from the community Křenovice. Since 1924, the municipality takes the official name Olešná. 1949 Olešná was assigned to the Okres Milevsko; after its cancellation, she came back to the end of 1960 Okres Pisek, at the same time was the incorporation to Podolí I. After a referendum sparked Olešná November 24 again in 1990 by Podolí I go and formed its own community. Olešná is a resort today; exist in the community 49 cottages and 42 cabins.
