Orlické Záhoří

Orlické Záhoří is a municipality in Okres Rychnov nad Kněžnou in the Czech Republic. It is twelve kilometers west of Bystrzyca Kłodzka in the valley of the upper Wild eagles on the border with Poland.

Geography

The community Orlické Záhoří lies between the main ridge of the Eagle Mountains and the Habelschwerdter Mountains and extends along the right bank of the Wild Eagle, which forms the border with Poland here. To the northwest, the Velka Deštná rises ( 1115 m ) to the west lie the Vřesník ( 1096 m), Orel ( 1099 m), Střední vrch (1000 m), Tetřevec ( 1043 m) and Zaklety (990 m). By Orlické Záhoří leads the state road 311 between Mladkov and Destna Orlické Mountains. In the village a road border crossing after Mostowice the Polish voivodship road 389 after Międzylesie.

Neighboring towns are on the Polish side Lasowka in the north, and Piaskowice Mostowice in the east, Rudawa in the southeast and the Czech Republic Nová Ves ( Neudorf ) and Ricky Orlické Mountains in the south.

History

The settlement at the headwaters of the Wild eagles on the border between Bohemia and the County of Glatz was from the second half of the 16th century.

As the first settlement ( Kunstat ) was applied from 1572 Kronstadt. 1576 was followed by the scattered settlement blackwater ( Cerna Voda ). Kerndorf ( Jadrna ) in 1603 first mentioned in writing, order the 1614 founded the colony Green Born ( Zelenka ) 1613. Nuclear Strand area and first as a " Kronstadt Glashütte " designated Glashütte settlement Friedrichswald developed ( Bedřichovka ). The higher ground Trtschkadorf ( Trčkov ) was first mentioned in 1654.

After the Second World War, the German inhabitants of the local positions of the current community Orlické Záhoří were expelled. Due to the remote border location most of the houses were uninhabited, making many homes and villages Trčkov and Zelenka were left to decay.

Following the merger of the villages of the new municipality was named Orlické Záhoří in 1960. On 16 August 2005, the border crossing was Orlické Záhoří - Mostowice opened, which is approved for vehicles up to 3.5 t.
