Otto Liebe

Carl Julius Otto Love ( born May 24, 1860 in Copenhagen, † March 21, 1929 ibid ) was the Danish Prime Minister, with the shortest term of office, namely from 30 March to 5 April 1920.

Otto love was born the son of a respected lawyer and himself received a legal education. He became a lawyer in 1889 and was the owner of one of the most famous and largest law firms in Denmark. His clientele also scored the Danish royal house. In 1910 he became chairman of the Bar Association.

In the so- called Easter crisis came in 1920 to disagreements between King Christian X and the Government Zahle II on the South Jutland question. The Prime Minister resigned after a heated discussion back to the king. The king then dismissed the remaining ministers and appointed on March 29, 1920 without the consent of the Folketing Otto love the new head of government, with the proviso as soon as possible to schedule a general election.

Love and his ministers were politically oriented conservative, but even not politicians. They soon realized that they no longer had the explosive atmosphere under control. Some critics noted that the King had committed a breach of the constitution, and it was threatened with a general strike. The king was distressed, and already on Easter Sunday, April 4, 1920, he dismissed the government and appointed again love instead Michael Pedersen Friis prime minister.

Otto love remained henceforth away from politics, and the Danish king was limited then to representative tasks.
