The municipality Papel Pampa is a district in the Bolivian department of La Paz

Location in near space

The municipality Papel Pampa is one of three Municipalities of the province of Gualberto Villarroel and is located in the southeastern part of the province. It is bordered to the west by the municipality of San Pedro de Curahuara, to the south and east by the department of Oruro, and to the north by the province of flavor.

The municipality has 61 localities ( Localidades ), the central location of the municipality is Papel Pampa with 153 inhabitants in the southern part of the municipality. The largest town in the municipality of San José is Alto with 247 inhabitants. (2001)

Geography

The municipality Papel Pampa lies in a vast hill country on the Bolivian Altiplano at an average altitude of 3900 meters, bounded on the east by the ridge of the Serranía de Huayllamarca and to the north by the Río Desaguadero.

The mean average temperature of the municipality is just under 8 ° C (see climate chart Huayllamarca ) and the annual rainfall is about 300 mm. The region has a pronounced diurnal climate, the monthly average temperatures vary only slightly between 4 ° C in June / July and 10 ° C in December.
