Patricia Petibon

Patricia Petibon ( born February 27, 1970 in Montargis ) is a French singer. The soprano was especially known for her interpretations of French Baroque music.

Life

Patricia Petibon studied music and graduated in 1995 at the Paris Conservatoire from her vocal training. William Christie discovered the young singer, since she regularly works with his ensemble Les Arts Florissants together. In this way, had Petibon first appearances in Aix -en- Provence, La Scala in Milan and in London's Wigmore Hall.

In Paris Petibon debuted in 1996 at the Palais Garnier with Rameau's Hippolyte et Aricie. Commitment, inter alia, with roles in Mozart's opera The Abduction from the Seraglio and The Marriage of Figaro Petibon led to various houses in the French provinces, the German Opera on the Rhine and to Zurich.

In Vienna, she was heard as Sophie in Massenet's Werther at the Festival Klangbogen and the Musikverein under the direction of Nikolaus Harnoncourt as Zelmira in a concert performance of Haydn's Armida. At the Vienna State Opera, she debuted in March 2000 with the Olympia in Les Contes d'Hoffmann by Jacques Offenbach and was here in February 2006 also to experience as Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier. In Geneva Petibon also embodied again the Olympia in The Tales of Hoffmann.
