Career

As a promising young player Patrik Augusta was pulled at 149 instead of the Toronto Maple Leafs at the NHL Entry Draft in 1992 in the seventh round. After four years at Dukla Jihlava ASD, he moved to the Draft immediately to North America and played at Toronto's farm team, the St. John 's Maple Leafs, in the American Hockey League. He convinced there and got a chance, but could not draw attention to himself in his first two games in the NHL. Toronto gave him away to the Washington Capitals, but also put him in the first years only in their farm team in the IHL. Here he was always among the Topscorern and had three consecutive years of more than 80 points. But even with the Capitals, he was allowed only twice in the NHL on the ice and had no point scorer.

Patrik buried his NHL plans and switched to the SERC Wild Wings. After two years in Schwenningen he hired at the Krefeld Penguins. He belonged with Christoph Brandner and Brad Purdie to the first forward line of Krefeld Penguins, which were 2003 German Masters. The series was also called " magic triangle ". Also in Krefeld he played for two years and then moved to the 2003/04 season at the Hannover Scorpions. However, a variety of injuries forced him to end his playing career after the 2005/06 season.

He then worked for two years as a scout for the Phoenix Coyotes. Since 2008 he is the HC Dukla Jihlava as a sports manager under contract and is responsible for the professional team of the club since 2009 in parallel as assistant coach.
