Pavel Churavý

Pavel Churavý ( born April 22, 1977 in Liberec) is a Czech nordic combined.

Churavý lives in his native city of Liberec and is effective for the Dukla Liberec local ASA. The married PE teacher first appeared in January 1999 in Garmisch -Partenkirchen in a sprint combination in the context of B- World Cup in appearance and finished behind Andrea Longo and Sebastian Haseney third. Even a month later, he took first in Ramsau at Nordic World Ski Championships in part, reaching the ranks 28 in Gundersen competition, 29 in the sprint and ran with Ladislav Rygl, Milan Kučera and Petr Smejc in the Czech squadron to eighth place. In February 2000, the Czech in Chaux -Neuve his first race contested at a Gundersen race at the World Cup, in which he finished in 44th place. The rest of the year he played more races in the World Cup, but without reaching scoring points, whereupon he was first staged back in the B- World Cup in January 2001. There he was in the Val di Fiemme first third and won the next race in Karpacz. In February, he played a race again in the World Cup and won the 26 in his hometown for the first time World Cup points. The Nordic World Ski Championships 2001 in Lahti yielded the results in 23 Gundersen competition and finished seventh in the relay. In Oslo, followed in March of the year with a first rank 16 World Cup result in the top 20, in December 2010 he succeeded as tenth his first top ten result in a Gundersen competition. In January 2002, followed by second place in the final pre-Olympic competition in Liberec, the first placing on the podium. At the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City was Churavy 16 on long-haul, 15th in the sprint and with the season ninth.

After a disappointing 2002/03 season, which at times led to a renewed decline in the B World Cup, followed again to participate in a World Cup. In Val di Fiemme Churavý was 34 in Gundersen competition, 14th in the sprint and tenth in the relay competition. By 2008, followed by a steady exchange between A and B World Cup. Here, the Czech reached again and again good World Cup results, without holding back to 2007, the top ten results. In 2005 he started again at a World Cup. In Oberstdorf, he finished 16th in the Gundersen competition and was 35th of the sprint. With the season he was eighth. The next highlight was the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin. In competitions from Pragelato Plan Churavý was 21 of Gundersen competition and 31 of the Sprint race and eight in the relay. The World Cup in Sapporo 2007 brought with ranks 29 in the sprint and 23 in Gundersen competition and season - seventh no outstanding results again. Since the 2008/ 09 season, the Czech was able to lay down in the world rankings. Seventeen placements in the top ten, including three times on the podium, he reached the end of November 2008 until the end of January 2010. Positive development was also reflected in the results at the 2009 World Championships in Liberec home. In the mass start was Churavý twelfth, 31 in Gundersen competition from small and aft of the large hill and Season - eighth. The season he finished in tenth place overall.
