Pavel Vorobiev

Pavel Sergeyevich Vorobyov (Russian Павел Сергеевич Воробьёв; born May 5, 1982 in Karaganda, Kazakh SSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who is under contract with Vityaz Podolsk HK from the Kontinental Hockey League since November 2013.

Career

Pavel Vorobyov began his career in 1997 at Molot Perm - Prikamye, before joining Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, where he remained for six seasons. NHL Entry Draft 2000, the Chicago Blackhawks selected him in the first round at the eleventh place. 2003-2006 Vorobyov played for the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League. His next stops were Moskovskaya Oblast Chimik and HK Spartak Moscow Severstal Cherepovets and HK MVD Balaschicha. With the latter he reached the 2010 final of the Gagarin Cup, by the HK MVD was defeated by Ak Bars Kazan.

In June 2010 he signed a contract with the new KHL Member HK Budiwelnik Kiev, however, did not take up the game mode. Therefore, Vorobyov was looking for a new club he was promoted in HK Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk. After two years of Yugra in the KHL Vorobyov left the club in May 2012 and joined together with Yevgeny Blokhin to Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk. For Neftekhimik he completed 13 KHL games, before moving to Awtomobilist Yekaterinburg in January 2013. At the beginning of the 2013/14 season he was at HK Ryazan under contract before he received a contract from HK Vityaz Podolsk in November.
