Peter Braunegger

Peter Egger Brown ( born May 19, 1975) is a former Austrian natural track luge. He also started in the recliner, but was especially successful in doubles. Together with Martin Schneebauer he was twice European Junior Champion and together with Peter Lechner, he won three medals at World and European Championships. The duo Braunegger / Lechner also won two World Cup races and three times reached the third place in the World Cup.

Career

As a junior Peter Braunegger launched together with Martin Schneebauer in doubles. According to a sixth place finish at the Junior European Championships in 1991 in Kandalakscha the double Schneebauer / Braunegger won at the Junior European Championships 1992 European Junior Championships and the bar in 1993 in Rautavaara the gold medal. In 1994, she achieved second place in Langenfeld. In single-seater Peter Braunegger achieved in 1992 and 1993, the eleventh to ninth place. 1994 and 1995, he came sixth.

Since Martin Schneebauer from 1995 started with Peter Lechner, drove Braunegger in the next few years with various double partners. At the beginning of the 1995/1996 season he scored with Herbert Kögl the first success in the World Cup when he was in Rautavaara second in the opening race. From the 1998/1999 season up to end of his career after the 2000/2001 season made ​​Braunegger together with the nine years older Peter Lechner, who had previously started with Martin Schneebauer, a successful doubles pair. Lechner / Braunegger were in those three years in any World Cup race worse than fifth, drove a total of eight times into the top three and celebrated on January 16, 2000 in Garmisch -Partenkirchen and on 7 January 2001 in Unterammergau two World Cup victories. Thus they reached in all three years in third place in doubles overall World Cup. For international championships they won a total of three medals. At the European Championships in 1999 Szczyrk they were behind Helmut and Andi Ruetz Second, only at the World Championship 2000 in Olang they missed in fourth just short of the podium. At the World Championship 2001 in Stein an der Enns Lechner / Braunegger reached the third place in the doubles and together with Marlies Wagner and Gerhard Pilz second place in the inaugural team competition. After the winter 2000/2001 both Peter Brown Egger and Peter Lechner ended their career.
