Petr Jiráček ( born March 2, 1986 in Tuchořice ) is a Czech international football player who currently is under contract with Hamburger SV.
Association
Jiráček played between 2008 and 2011 100 league appearances for Viktoria Plzeň.
During the winter break of 2011/12 he moved to Bundesliga side VfL Wolfsburg; He signed a contract until 30 June 2016. The transfer fee was approximately four million euros. After he had given against 1 FC Köln his Bundesliga debut, he scored on 10 February 2012 ( 21 Matchday) in a 3-2 home win his first two Bundesliga goals.
End of August 2012 changed Jiráček within the league for Hamburger SV. He signed a four-year contract until the end of June 2016.
National
On September 3, 2011 Jiráček made his debut for the Czech national team in match against Scotland. He scored his first goal in a 1-0 victory in the European Championship qualifying play-off against Montenegro.
In the group stage of the Czech national team at the finals of the 2012 European Football Championship Jiráček was one of the most prominent players. Through his two goals he contributed to the victories against Greece ( 2-1) and Poland at ( 1-0), and thus to reach the quarter-finals.
