Petra Schersing

Petra shear Sing ( born July 18, 1965 in Quedlinburg as Jane Smith ) is a retired German sprinter and Olympic silver medalist who competed for East Germany. She won eight medals in international competitions in the 400 - meter dash and the 4 x 400 - meter relay.

At the 1988 Olympics in Seoul, she won the silver medal over 400 meters between Olha Olga Nazarova and Bryshina (both URS). In the 4 x 400 - meter relay team, she won the bronze medal ( 3:18,29 min, together with Dagmar Neubauer, Kirsten Emmelmann and Sabine Busch). For these achievements, she was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in silver.
