The rayon Petrovsky (Russian Петровский район ) is a raion in Russia's Saratov Oblast. The administrative center is the district-free city Petrowsk.

Geographical location
The Petrovsky rayon is located in the northern part of the Saratov Oblast, about 100 kilometers northwest of the city of Saratov, bordering the northerly Penza Oblast. The Raion is located in the wooded mountains of the Volga plate. There is still a moderate continental climate.

The Rajon is centrally crossed by the Medveditsa. At the height of the city Petrowsk the flow deviates from its previous east-west in the direction and flows from here on in a southerly direction.
