Pierre-Louis Thévenet

Pierre -Louis Thévenet is a French art director and production designer, who won both an Academy Award for Best Production Design and a Goya Award for Best Production Design as well as a special assessment at the Festival Internacional de Cine de Mar del Plata.

Life

Thévenet began his career as an art director and production designer in the film industry in 1959 with the film La verte moisson and worked until 2001 in the production of 24 films.

At the Academy Awards in 1971 he won along with Urie McCleary, Gil Parrondo and Antonio Mateos Academy Award for Best Production Design in the war film Patton - Rebell in Uniform ( 1970) by Franklin J. Schaffner with George C. Scott, Karl Malden, and Stephen Young in the lead roles.

At the ceremony of the Goya 1990, he was first nominated for Best Production Design for El sueño del mono loco ( 1989) by Fernando Trueba with Jeff Goldblum, Miranda Richardson and Anémone for the Goya. In 1997 he was again nominated for Tranvía a la Malvarrosa ( 1997) by José Luis García Sánchez Liberto Rabal, Jorge Merino and Ariadna Gil for the Goya for Best Production Design, and was also awarded for the scenic features of this film a special appreciation of the Internacional de Cine de Mar del Plata.

At the ceremony of the Goya 2000 he was awarded the Goya for Best Production Design for Goya in Bordeaux (1999) by Carlos Saura with Francisco Rabal, José Coronado and Dafne Fernández in the lead roles.
