Piirissaare Parish

Piirissaare is a municipality in the Estonian Tartu county with an area of 7.8 km ². It has 67 inhabitants, including 3 children, (as of January 1, 2012). The municipal area is the island Piirissaar on Lake Peipus.

In addition to the main town Tooni for rural community are the two villages Piiri and Saare. From the port for ferries to the mainland by Piirissaare Laaksaare (10 km) and Tartu (63 km).

In agriculture, fishing and onion cultivation dominate. There is an old-believers, an Orthodox and a Lutheran church.
