Piteå IF (men)

Piteå IF is a Swedish sports club from the northern Swedish town of Piteå. The club is best known for its women's soccer team, which was first played in the Damallsvenskan 2009. The men's team played a season second-rate.

History

Piteå IF was founded on May 24, 1918 as a track and field club. Two years later, IFK Piteå joined the club, brought the football as a sport in the club. 1934 was a department for orienteering. There were also temporarily departments for gymnastics, Bandy, volleyball and handball.

Hockey

The Hockey Teams Piteå IF was founded in 1938 and took from 1975 to 1985 through to Division 1, then the second highest Hockey League, in part. In 1986, the Hockey section of the club merged with the Munksunds S / SK and Öjeby IF and Piteå HC was born.

Men's Football

For a long time joined the football team of Piteå IF not regionally in appearance. In 1993 she rose to the third-rate Division 2 Norrland, in which they initially played against relegation.
