Pittsburg is the capital and the county seat ( county seat ) of the Camp County in the U.S. state of Texas in the United States.

Geography

The city is located in northeast Texas at the intersection of U.S. Highway 271 with Highway 11, about 100 km southwest of Texarkana, is about 90 km each from Oklahoma and Arkansas to the north east and has a total area of 8.7 km ², of which 0.1 km ² water surface.

Demographic data

According to the census of 2000, there were 4,347 people in 1,593 households and 1,056 families. The population density was 502.5 inhabitants per km ². The racial the population was composed of 54.50 % White, 27.97 % African American, 0.30 % Native American, 0.16 % Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander residents from the and 15.76 % from other ethnic groups.
