Podčetrtek

Podčetrtek ( German: Windisch Landsberg, Germany see Berg) is a municipality in the Lower Styria region in Slovenia.

In the overall community consisting of 26 villages and hamlets 3348 people live. The main town Podčetrtek has 532 inhabitants. The municipality is located in Sotlatal to the Croatian border, 115 km from Ljubljana and 70 km from Zagreb.

For centuries, the people knew around Podčetrtek from the healing springs on the slopes of Rudnica. The Pauline monks from the nearby monastery in what is now the district Olimje use this water in the 17th and 18th centuries for their monastery pharmacy. Mid-1960s, the water was transferred to wells at a better location. So today Atomske Toplice, a modern spa was born.
